to trace a further Voucher 005 for £29,769 to
which the Jardine Engineering Corporation have
referred. It would appear from the letter
from the Corporation dated 28th May, 1946,
which appears as Appendix C to Sir Mark Young's despatch

of Beth April, 1947, that Voucher 005 was in fact
lodged with the Accountant-General, Hong Kong,
at the same time as the others and I should be
grateful for information which might enable
this voucher to be traced.

Communications had presented to the Hong Kong
£9.5,449 Government a much larger claim for 942,449, said

respect of railway materials which, though not
specifically requisitioned, were, by order of
the Hong Kong Government in 1941, prevented from
being removed from Hong Kong and thus lost when
the Colony fell. At the meeting at the War Office
